I can't log in, what should I do?
First of all, have you registered?
If not click here to register.
Also please note, the forum and chatroom are not linked at the moment, so you need to register seperatly for each. If you have only registered for the Forum, you will not have access to the Chatroom, and vice versa.
If you have only just registered a user account you may have to wait a short time before it becomes active. Sometimes it is immediate, and sometimes not. Please be patient. If your user account is still not working within 12 hours, contact our tech monkey. (see email link at the bottom of this page)
Please do NOT attempt to register multiple times under the same or different usernames if your first attempt does not work.
Also make sure you have entered your username and password correctly, check the spelling etc.

The page won't load, whats wrong?
Occasionally the server our site is connected to experiences temporary technical glitches, for no apparent reason.
If this happens, don't panic, 99% of the time it will fix itself within a few minutes, so just keep trying back.
If the site or page is still not working within an hour contact the tech monkey. (see email link at the bottom of this page)
PLEASE NOTE: before contacting the tech monkey, check Announcements on the forum, if a page is scheduled to be unavailable it will be posted there.
How come I get an error message when I try to reply to posts in the forum?
Double check to make sure you are logged in, even if you have just logged in, occassionally the forum will log you out for no apparent reason.
This doesn't happen often, it's one of those random technical glitches we have no control over.
My post in the forum has disappearred, where's it gone?
Your post may have been moved or removed by one of the Hope A-Z Mod/Admin team.
Usually you will receive an email telling you where it has gone and the reason why it has been moved/removed.
If you haven't received an email, contact a member of our mod/admin team (see email link at the bottom of this page) and they will be able to find out for you.
I get only a grey box with a little X in the corner where the chat window should be?

First try emptying your browser's cache
To empty your browsers cache using Internet Explorer:
1. Click on Tools from your browser's main menu.
2. Select Internet Options
3. Under the General tab, click Delete Files... in the Temporary Internet files section.
To empty your browsers cache using Mozilla Firefox or Netscape:
1. Click on Tools from your browser's main menu.
2. Select Options
3. Under the Privacy tab, click clear... in the Cache section.
IMPORTANT: close all open browser windows before clearing the cache
If that doesn't work, you may not have the latest version of Java. click here to download the latest version of Java.
When I try to log in to the chatroom nothing happens, or a message appears telling me that it cannot connect, or that I have been disconnected. What is wrong?
The chat server may be down temporarily. If it is, it should be up and running again withijn 10 minutes.
If it is still not working after an hour, contact the tech monkey. (see email link at the bottom of this page)

I'd like to know how to use the options in the chatroom, and to learn what they are all for, where can I find that out?
As yet there are no instructions on this site that tell you how to use the chatroom options. I will shortly be posting instructions in the forum expaining what everything is and how it all works.

Please note, when contacting the TechMonkey with technical problems be sure to include:
- The username and email address you used for registration
- What browser you are using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netcape etc)
- Where in the site you are having trouble (ie; forum or chatroom etc)
- and a description of what the problem is with as many details as possible (ie;if it's an error message, what does it say? If the chatroom isn't appearing, is anything else appearing? etc)
The TechMonkey, like a doctor, needs to know the 'symptoms' of the problem before she can make a diagnosis and fix it
